Go Green - Installation Project

I had to think about the location of Bournemouth and how its represented and presented. For this project the Bournemouth Arts Festival would be linked in with my installation. My location for the installation in Richmond Hill Roundabout and this is what I came up with.

How it works :

1 - An interactive board has moving parts for children (or anyone) to turn to get information about the environment and how much damage carbon emissions affect the earth and what they can do to stop it. (Get the message to ride a bike more) 2 - Bike Shelter, where all the bikes are stored for when children have their lessons around it. 3 - Road signs installation; this is linked to number 7, bicycles that spin. When children use this road signs light up and flash. 4 - The cycle path, when there aren’t any lessons anyone is welcome to use it, also they can go across the bridge and use that as well to make their experience a bit more fun. 5 - Information sign, tells what the aim is, and tells that if you ride on the bicycles the lights will go and move. 6 - The bicycles are fixed in a circle, so anyone especially young children who didn’t want to have a lesson can enjoy these bicycles. 7 - Another interactive board same as number 1 from the other side but slightly smaller. 8 - Ramps for cyclists who are a bit older to enjoy, the other side of the cycle path has a ramp as well.
